Orchestral and Jazz Guitars
The choice of wood really makes a difference when it comes to guitars. Especially so, when it comes to jazz guitars. The type of the wood and the structure chosen sum up into the acoustic properties of the guitar. I aim to follow the century old traditions in the guitar making as closely as possible, depending slightly on what is wanted of the guitar. At the same time, it is sometimes nice to do something interdisciplinary. It too, can lead to great results.
The miking of the guitar influences greatly the sound of the instrument as well as its versatility.
When finishing the guitar I use exclusively shellac and French polishing, or alternatively nitrocellulose lacquer, which are definitely best suited for these kind of instruments.
